Vinnie with Kimo

Have you guys heard Vinnie with Kimo Williams? This band is too much. You have to experience it to believe it. They came to Chicago a while ago, with Vinnie arriving that very afternoon to rehearse. Though everything was late, it came back to him (the charts) and he slayed, of course.

I think it's like 17-pieces (monster horn section). You just have to check it out. The name of the release is called TRACKING.

The Tracking cd is some truly sick stuff. There wer elive MP3's on Kimo's site and a mention of an upcoming live cd but have to see a release date.

The last time I saw them, they were supposed to be recording. That night, a torrid yound drummer named Tom Hipskind (look for him in the future) was playing the drums. It was incredible. Unfortunately, something happened, recording equipment wise and they lost the opportunity to
do it. [img]frown.gif[/img]

It's hard to get a band like that to all come together, at the same time, for a live recording.

Tom is a GREAT player. Again, watch for him.

I chatted with him via email a year ago or so and he was telling some great stories about the Tracking sessions. (Vinnie used his kit for the whole thing, 6 ply shells from Precision. I love that drum sound!)

The drum sound on that cd is fantastic! (recording technique or not)

Precision use keller shells. But then, vinnie could make a cardboard tube sound musical. Interesting info derek.
